How does the process work?
At our clinic in Ankara, clear aligner treatment begins with an in-person examination. At the examination your teeth, gums and jaw structure are assessed; if necessary, X-rays and a digital scan are taken. The treatment plan and information on duration are given after this examination. A preliminary remote conversation can help with general information, but a decision on suitability cannot be made without an examination.
Preparing before your appointment
- If you have one, have a recent panoramic X-ray and your records of previous orthodontic treatment ready.
- Make a note of the medication you take, your allergies and your dental history.
- Plan how long you will stay in Ankara on the dates you travel. The frequency of check-ups varies with the treatment.
- If you started clear aligner treatment in another country, see the page on treatment started abroad for details.
Check-ups and remote follow-up
With clear aligner treatment, check-ups usually take place every 6–10 weeks; the frequency depends on your plan. Between check-ups, where your dentist considers it appropriate, follow-up can be carried out by sharing photos. Photo follow-up does not replace planned check-ups. For a lost or broken aligner, see the page on what to do if an aligner is lost or broken while travelling.
Language and communication
Turkish and English can be used when communicating with the clinic; translation support can be arranged for other languages. For appointments and questions, you can use our contact page.
